Ball (Ages 4-5)
Tee Ball Baseball is for players ages 4-5 years old. The primary goal of Tee Ball is to have fun while simple fundamentals of hitting, fielding and running the bases are taught. There are no outs and everyone bats through the lineup. Rosters may be composed of between 10 and 12 players. No live pitching is permitted in this division. The diamond consists of a 50ft base path. All games are held at Alta Mesa. Games consist of 3 innings or 1 hour, which ever comes first.
Coach Pitch (Ages
6-7
)
Baseball for players ages 6-7 years old. The primary goal of Coach Pitch is to teach the fundamentals such as hitting without a tee, fielding the ball, running the bases and teamwork. Team bats through lineup and 3 outs clear the bases. Rosters may be composed of between 10 and 12 players. Coach pitches, no kid pitch allowed. The diamond consists of a 60ft base path. All games are held at Alta Mesa. Games consist of 4 innings or 1-1/2 hours, which ever comes first.
Jr Minors (Ages 8)
Baseball for players ages 8 years old. The primary goal of the Jr Minors Division is to teach fundamental baseball, to prepare for the Minor Division. Team bats through lineup or 3 outs apply. Rosters may be composed of between 10 and 12 players. Coach pitches first 3 innings, 5 pitch maximum, 3 strikes apply. Kids pitch following 2 innings. The diamond consists of a 60ft base path. All games are held at Alta Mesa. Games consist of 5 innings or 2 hours, which ever comes first.
Minors (Ages 9-10)
Baseball program for players ages 9-10 years old. Minors is a competitive division that consists of true Little League baseball rules and continues to instruct in fundamental baseball, to prepare for the Major Division. Rosters may be composed of between 11 and 13 players. Kids pitch all 6 innings. Players are guaranteed at least 2 innings of defense and 1 time at bat. The diamond consists of a 60ft base path and the pitching distance is 46 feet. All games are held at Alta Mesa. Games consist of 6 innings or 2 hours, which ever comes first. Minors play a single elimination tournament within our own league, at the end of the season, to see who goes to the TOC's (Tournament of Champions) and compete against other local Little Leagues. At the end of the year the 9-10 year olds are chosen for All Stars to play during the summer months.
Majors (Ages 11-12)
Baseball for players ages 11-12 years old. Majors is a competitive division that consists of true Little League baseball rules and continues to instruct in fundamental baseball. Rosters may be composed of between 11 and 13 players. Kids pitch all 6 innings. Players are guaranteed at least 2 innings of defense and 1 time at bat. The diamond consists of a 60ft base path and the pitching distance is 46 feet. Majors interleague against other local Little Leagues (West Redding, Foothill, & Shasta Dam) during the regular season. Most home games will be at Alta Mesa Field. Games consist of 6 innings or 2 hours, which ever comes first. Majors play a single elimination tournament within our own league, at the end of the season, to see who goes to the TOC's (Tournament of Champions) and compete against other local Little Leagues. At the end of the year the 11-12 year olds are chosen for All Stars to play during the summer months. The 12 year old All Star team competes one game at a time to make it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania, featuring teams from all around the globe.
Juniors (Ages 13-14)
Baseball for players ages 13-14 years old. Juniors is a competitive division that continues to instruct in fundamental baseball with addition to leading off and base stealing using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches (MLB dimensions). Rosters may be composed of between 11 and 13 players. Players are guaranteed at least 2 innings of defense and 1 time at bat. Juniors interleague against other local Little Leagues (from West Redding to Yreka) during the regular season. Home games will be at Big League Dreams Baseball Park. Games consist of 7 innings and may include double headers on Saturday. Juniors play a double elimination tournament at the end of the season called the TOC's (Tournament of Champions) and compete against other local Little Leagues. At the end of the year Juniors are chosen for All Stars to play during the summer months. The Junior All Star team competes one game at a time to make it to the Junior League Baseball World Series in Taylor Michigan, featuring teams from all around the globe.
